I got these for Tai Chi as standard shoes were making my knees hurt doing the motions. These are WONDEFUL. They also look great and I get a ton of compliments on them. Useless for a walking shoe, but great shoe for specific motions and mechanics. Having wide feet it's always challenging to find shoes that fit, and these fit perfect.

As I say in all of my reviews, each product starts with 3 stars. Why? Because 3 means it met expectations, no more and no less. I add or remove stars from there based on whether I was impressed or disappointed, and on any interaction with manufacturer (not Amazon) customer service.

These shoes get 2 stars because they're significantly narrower than other WHITIN branded shoes that I have (and like!).

I don't have insanely wide feet, but a couple of years ago I moved to "barefoot" minimalist shoes with roomy toe boxes, thin outsoles, no arch support, and zero drop. This caused my feet to get wider as the toes began to spread out. My go-to casual shoes are the WHITIN W81, of which I have several. The sizing guide on both claims the same length and width, so I purchased my usual size and a size up just in case.

These shoes, model W91, are nowhere near as wide in the mid-foot as the W81. The toe box is a bit closer to advertised, but still not as wide as their size guide indicates. Even when wearing the next size up, my mid and forefoot are on top of the outsole - rather than within the edges - which is obviously uncomfortable.

I wanted to love these, I really did. I dig the blue and purple and was excited to find some more affordable, athletic, less casual looking minimalist shoes.
